Consecutive interpreting is considered as the major source of failure for the professional interpreter test. Here are some advice on how to develop your interpreting skills.  

1 Listen to a speech and reproduce it as accurately and completely as you can. (Try two sentences first, then four, then six…test your limits!)  

2 Take an     article 250 words in length and peruse it for about 3 minutes. Then     translate the article aloud.

3 Tape record speeches from radio or TV and try to interpret as     much of a speech as you can.

4 Get as much actual interpreting practice as much as you can.

In one word, you need to develop your listening analysis skills, memory retention skills and note-taking skills to prepare yourself for the professional interpreter test.

NAATI announced in December 2011 that it would restart Chinese and Mandarin accreditation testing in 2012. More information is now available about how the scheduled testing will proceed including any changes that will be made to the test delivery.

There are limited testing places available in all States for all the sessions. The maximum numbers vary depending on the location you wish to sit the test. To avoid the disappointment of not being able to be tested in your preferred session you should make your application as early as you are able to. Should NAATI not be able to offer you a test in your nominated testing location we will notify you as soon as we are able to and you will be assigned to the next available session.
All places for the March 2012 Paraprofessional Interpreter testing session have been filled. Any new applications will be assigned to the next available session.

NAATI will issue results for these tests as quickly as we are able to but it may take ten weeks or more.

Information about all arrangements for testing will be sent to each candidate in writing. For those individuals who have already applied for testing this information will be sent by mid February 2012.

B Changes to Test Delivery Method for Mandarin Paraprofessional Interpreter Accreditation Tests
To ensure NAATI is able to accommodate as many candidates as possible for the Mandarin Paraprofessional Interpreter accreditation test sessions, the testing will now be divided into two parts, to be run on separate days. Part One of the Test will be run on the first day and Part Two of the test will be run on the second day
Part One: Social and Cultural Awareness and Ethics of the Profession Questions
These sections will be completed based on written questions and written answers, (instead of the oral questions and answers previously conducted). The written test for these aspects will take 1½ hours to complete. All questions will be asked in English and candidates will be able to choose the language (English or Chinese) in which they write their responses. Candidates will be notified of the date and time of their written test which will occur on a different day to the oral testing session.
Part Two: Dialogue Interpreting
This part will be conducted under similar conditions as previous with recorded materials being played back to candidates to interpret. All responses will be recorded. However due to the issues that have arisen with publication of accreditation test materials on the internet the following additional conditions will be applied:
a) all candidates will be required to arrive for the test at the same time (for example all individuals for a particular session will have to be at the test venue by 9 am)
b) all candidates will be asked to wait in a separate waiting room, until they are required for their test.
c) candidates will not be able to leave the venue until their test has been conducted, if they do leave they will not be permitted to return to complete their test. Some candidates may have to wait an extended period of time, with testing being conducted from 9am until 4pm in some locations
d) all candidates should be prepared with food and drink as they may have to wait extended periods of time until their test can be conducted. NAATI will ensure that candidates are able to have a place to eat during the day.
# NAATI is considering whether there is sufficient demand to run another session in early May 2012.
A decision about this will be made by the end of February 2012
e) the waiting room will have seating and access to toilet facilities..
f) no access to electronic communication devices (including cell phones, laptops, PDA’s, Tablets) will be allowed. Any candidate found with such a device will have their test cancelled
g) candidates will be allowed to talk amongst themselves
h) access to written preparation or other materials including books will be allowed
i) there may be other restrictions that have to be put in place due to the nature of the venues used in different states. All candidates will be advised of these conditions on the day.
j) the individual(s) appointed by NAATI to supervise the waiting room will have the final say in relation to acceptable conduct within the room.
If any candidate is unsure of whether a behaviour is acceptable, they should discuss this with supervising officer or a NAATI staff member.
If candidates cannot comply with the conditions stated above, NAATI will be unable to test them.
C Test Results
NAATI will issue results for these tests as quickly as we are able to but it may take ten weeks or more.

另外不太明白为什么你说不用背CODE 答案里面不是一定要提到CODE里面的原话才行吗？

    code 的使用方法和LEGISLATION 一样，先是确认哪个LEGISLATION 然后APPLY ，学过法律课程的话应该比较了解，基本上就是IROCK (好像是这个名字，太久了，不记得了)的形式

You can follow the pattern when answering the ethical issues:
1 identify the priciple that is involved in the situation;
2 explain the meaning of the principle you have identified; and
3 explain the action you would take.
In regard to the code, what I mean is that you don't have to quote which section of a specific code of theics they come from. e.g. (1 b I) (你不用背是哪一条哪一项, 只需要说把职业道德的具体内容写出来就行了.)
