We are a carpet importer and retailer with offices throughoutAustralia. We are currently seeking a Logistics Officer to join us on a 6 monthmaternity leave contract. This contract position will be based in our Sydneyoffice.

The successful candidate for this position willgain experience in Logistics through liaising with customers, salesrepresentatives, managers, freight forwarders and suppliers to provideeffective and efficient customer service and coordinate resolution of issuesarising in a timely and effective manner.
Reporting to the Finance Director your dutieswill include:
?
Ordering samples
?
Purchasing from both local andinternational suppliers
?
Generating purchase orders
?
Maintaining shipment report
?
Organizing international transportand Customs clearance via freight forwarders
?
Scheduling warehouse activities
?Organizing local and interstate deliveries by couriers
?
Liaising with the Accounts onproforma invoices
?
Recording inventory movement andissuing weekly inventory reports
?
Undertaking general administrativetasks

To be considered for this position, you willhave:
?Attention to detail
?Ability to work effectively under general supervision
?Excellent organisational and time management skills
?Accurate Data Entry Skills
?Knowledge of a variety of computer software, including word processing,database and spreadsheet applications
? Shipping knowledge preferred butnot essential
