Junior Trading Support Engineer (Sydney)
Eclipse Options is a proprietary trading firm specializing in high frequency derivatives trading, including market making with its headquarters in Hong Kong. Combining our trading experience, technology and risk management, we currently trade the Asian markets and have offices in US and Australia.
For our Sydney Office, we are looking for a Junior Trading Support Engineer
The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with the day to day operations of our trading systems in Australia, covering Australian markets. He/She will be mentored by an experienced support team based in Hong Kong. If you have an analytical mind, a meticulous approach to IT and are interested in both IT and global financial markets, then this role is for you!
Responsibilities and Duties
? Administration and maintenance of critical trading applications within a distributed multi-server environment
? Administration of the Australian IT environment
? Work closely with the Desktop, Network and development teams (all based in Hong Kong) and assisting when necessary
? Develop scripts and other tools to support our trading systems operations as required
? Follow IT policies and procedures as set forth by the management
? Provide general trading floor support directly to traders
? Be involved in some after- hours support as needed
What you offer
? University Degree in Computer Science or related disciplines
? Strong Linux skills (Redhat/Fedora preferred)
? Knowledge of TCP/IP networking, routing and switching
? Working knowledge of at least one of the following: PERL, PHP, Java, VBA, C
? Experience with MySQL
? Exposure to market data services such as: Reuters, Bloomberg, Activ is preferred
? Excellent technical troubleshooting and problem solving skills under pressure
? Excellent communication skills in both spoken and written English is a must
