新西兰北岛小城 - Gisborne

想在这个坛子里,查查有关北岛的贴子, 结果一个都没查到. 不如我先来贴一个,希望抛砖引玉.
如果不是一年多前的一次意外的出差, 我根本不会听说Gisborne这个地方.
Gisborne is located close to the international date line you can — figuratively speaking — almost touch it, and so Gisborne lays claim to being the first major city in the world where every new day begins. With the sun shining an average of 2200 hours a year, Gisborne is also one of the sunniest places in New Zealand.
Sunny days and a good surf along the coastline make for a pleasant and enticing Gisborne holiday for those who ride the waves. For those who don’t, the white sand beaches and the waters of the South Pacific can be as much of a siren’s call.
原来这是最早迎接日出的城市, 每年日照时间特长,所以是一个农产品生长基地. 每年11月到三月, 农产品成熟的季节,是这里最忙碌的时候. 我接到出差任务的时候已是三月, 供应商借口即使我去,也看不到生产过程,想拒绝掉我的访问. 但他们的客户要求他们必须接受审核.
出发前的两天,澳大利亚的新闻里正在报道一个和我同名的人贿赂前国防部长的丑闻, 我以前的同事纷纷发来邮件,开玩笑地问: IS THIS YOU? 我则借着这个出差, 发回照片, 本人正在逃亡途中.
奥克兰到Gisborne 20人座小飞机.总共在这个小城呆了不到40小时. 到达时是周日晚上. 从机场出来等的士时, 一个当地人好奇地问我, 你什么时候到达新西兰的? 我回答: 两小时前. 这下他好象更觉得不可思议了. 我只好说:  I AM 澳洲旅游休闲 http://www.ozabc.com/forum-55-1.html

原来这个地方对于库克船长发现新西兰意义非凡.
是那个小男孩首先发现了陆地. 库克船长率领船员们登陆却豪无所获,所以给这里起名poverty bay.This prominence was the first part of New Zealand sighted by the crew of Captain James Cook's ship Endeavour, and was named for the crew member who first saw it. 这小狗一直在自己玩水, 长达20分钟的时间并未见狗的主人. 天色暗了, 在我准备打道回府时,看到一个男人划着一条小船出现. 原来这只狗一直在等自己的主人.

第二天早上的飞机是11点的,去机场前还有充足的时间出去沿着河边走走.
