dear all,i'm about to buy a used car, got the vin and engine number off the seller, but got stuck when i was checking the car history against the REVS database. the REVS site (revs.nsw.gov.au) has been temporarily unavailable for an outage or something. I only realized the site was removed after two or three days of keeping reading the "temporarily unavailable due to system maintenance".after a quick search, seems the new "REVS" site is called PPSR (www.ppsr.gov.au). after i punched in the vin, i was promoted to give my credit card details to process further, which means to view the financial, accidental info of the car.if my memory serves me correctly, the original REVS service is free of charge of viewing this report. and its up to the user to buy the report (around $20?) which can be served as a legal document at the time the buyer purchases it to protect the buyer free from any unknown claims on the car.so my question is the PPSR really the current version of REVS? and the service |
