今年6月期间,我收到了租房agent发过的信件被告知房租从330即将涨到360,涨幅10% (30刀)一周。我觉得涨幅特别多,就开始纠结是不是给agent 写信negotiate price.
后来再几周前的7 news里面听到一则新闻:
“悉尼地区的vacancy rate 首次由历年来得average 1% 涨到了2.2%,但是不能就此片面的下定论供需逐渐趋于平衡."

可是听到此文,我就有点信心给他们写写这信了。这里也主要是参考了之前澳洲的网友的一些资料。

I have received your letter stating that our rent will increase from $330 per week to $360 in October.
A rent increase of $30 per week will cause our family great hardship. We were surprised at a rise that is nearly 10%. As you are aware, we have looked after the premises. E.g.I had to take 3 days off from work when the kitchen has been installed. And we also have always been prompt in paying the rent.
We propose that we are able to pay $345 per week and ask that you agree to this lesser amount. Otherwise we will have to consider leaving if the rent is increased.
I look forward to your reply confirming that the increased rent will be $345 per week.

然后就开始research 了一下自己家周边的一些leasing market. 远的不说,就我家楼下一房,条件比我们家还差,要租375刀一周,但是已经出租了将近5-6周都没有租掉,现在reduce到360刀,还在open inspection...还没有租掉。
周边几个suburb 不像以前open inspection一次就有人take deposit的情况,都要等几周,也有些条件比较差的房子都reduce price了。
今天终于收到中介回复说决定少涨价一点,涨到350刀 免了10刀一周(PS: 我现在住的这个Unit 今年年初房东换了一套全新的厨房)我们家MQ附近,可步行去火车站及学校的距离,而且还是两房,所以我觉得这个价格还是很有性价比的,就决定暂还是再住下吧。
