Thanks for the above replies, but the problem I am thinking is if I bght a house for $500K, and paid off for 100K(20%) deposit, then have a mortgage for 400K, at the interest rate now, say 5%, I have to pay 20k each year just for interest only, even if I rented 1-2 rooms out, I have to make $385/wk (20k/52wks) rent income to break it even, which is pretty hard depend on current rent level in my state, not to mention if the payment of interest can be finally paid off by the increasement of the market value of the house. Do you guys think it is a good timing to buy the house? If the market price is not going to increase too much, is it better to save more before buying one?
