How do you manage a house from a distance?

I've been struggling to make a decision to buy a property or not for a while. Because of job uncertainty, I will move interstate a few months or one year later. I know we can pay a property agency to look after my house. But based on my research, this option is not actually that optimistic. I wonder if anybody is managing his/her property when working away. Thanks ahead.

1st question
if the tenants decided not to return ur call what r u going to do? fly to the house to check whats going on?
2nd question
what if the tenant decided to vacate the house, r u going to fly back to organize open home inspection? what if it takes more than 2 weeks to rent it out? does ur job allow u to be away for so long?
