cheap & effective way to prevent & kill termite around house?

No doubt that Termite is nightmare to every home owner. And I guess termite may be present around your house any time.
Most people here talking about Firewall treatment, but it is very expensive, usually in thousands.
How about termite bait, which can attract termite and eventually kill the whole colony? Something like this product from "GreenPest" (http://www.greenpest.com.au/), who claim only cost $150 per package with 6 units. Or something sold in ebay, only $20 per bait?
Any idea?

Why not?
Theoretically, it sounds good.
Termite eats the bait and then pass it to queen. Eventually, all gone.
