Unix (Sun Solaris) Administrator

*Permanent position
*Based in CBD
*Salary- up to about $90K package, depending on skills and experience (+
paid on-call)

Great opportunity exists for an experienced Unix (Sun Solaris)
Administrator.

This is a permanent position, based in the CBD.

This role will see you work as part of a small IT team - a team of 3
that support the Windows, Unix/Linux and Networking infrastructure.

The core skills required for this role is Solaris.  However, as you will
be working as part of a small team, our client is looking for an
"all-rounder" - someone who has had experience not only supporting Unix,
but also Windows servers.  Any networking skills or at least a solid
understanding of networking concepts would be a bonus.

As Unix Administrator, you will be responsible for ensuring system
availability, support and maintenance of Sun Solaris servers.  This will
also include server configuration and server patching.  You may also be
responsible for support of the Windows and networking infrastructure.

To succeed in this position as Unix (Sun Solaris) Administrator, you
will have the ability to work both under pressure and the ability to
work autonomously.  You must also have excellent communication skills
and a strong customer service focus.  You will also be a strong team
player, flexible, willing to learn and able to meet tight deadlines.

Please note, you may be required to work out of hours / participate in
an on-call roster to support the business (on-call is for 1 week every 3
weeks).
