ocne come to performance, brand is not that crucial, as you said, 10K price different, with that 10K to upgrade the R, S3 will looks like shit, with 20K to upgrade the R, A45 will looks worse than shit.... just my 2 cents...same case how GTR piss off R8 V8.

Yes! Performance car is all about the engine spec and suspension tuning. Nothing to do with cosmetic stuff. But I don't think Golf R has a poor interior and exterior.

VW and Audi are well known as option experts.Look at A45, only 3 options available here in Australia, I call that short.
- Black wheel $500
- Aero kit $2k
- Stiffer suspension $2k
But remember normal people won't choose stiffer suspension because it's stiff enough!R's options are definitely longer:
Navigation, keyless entry and push-button start, Park Distance Control, and Fender premium audio, sunroof possiblyExcept for the keyless, A45's price already includes other options that R has.Anyway, R will be $15k cheaper than A45, with similar options equipped.

I like S3, A45 and R, they all best performance in their class. And someone pay extra for the bedge / interior, someone save the difference for performance upgrade. Someone enjoy performance + luxury, but true racers mod interior for best balance, cutting weight,My ex-manager took off the air-con from his RX-7 engine bay to add turbo,
