If I'm going to buy something now, I will probably pick north shore. I've lived at many different suburbs of Sydney, and north shore rules.
Chatswood has become a fool's paradise so Hornsby is actually the best choice at this moment, or even a little bit further north to Mt Colah or Asquith.
A proposal of building an express line connecting St Leonards to North Sydney has been made. If that becomes reality one day, you will see super-express trains starting from Hornsby, stopping at Chatswood and St Leonards only, then North Sydney and then Wynyard. I wouldn't feel sorry if Chatswood is excluded. Travel time will be cut down to 25 minutes or so.
However I will still hold until the start of next year. With any market crash, there is a shoulder effect - meaning when the price starts to come down, it first come down a little bit, then stay there for a while, just like the curve from a man's head down to his shoulder, then the real avalanche will happen, like from shoulder straight to the feet. I really don't know there will be a hard landing or not, but with apartments market oversupply has been much much worse than houses, so it's a lot likely to happen in this sub-section of residential property market. |
