Barry Du Bois
Judge
Barry’s building career spans more than 30 years, including a three-year posting as President of the Master Builders Association in the Eastern Suburbs.
Barry completed an apprenticeship as a carpenter and joiner in 1979, then in 1984 completed a Building Certifcate and started a building company.
During these early years Barry specialised in renovation and small extensions, but by the late '80s he had started buying and renovating small homes and terraces for resale. He soon moved on to renovating multi-million dollar waterfront homes.
In the early 2000s Barry was heavily involved in local council, and in 2003 stood as an independent councilor. Retired at an enviable 46, Barry sailed around the world in his yacht and now spends six months of the year cruising international waters.
More recently he has started consultancy work with an investment bank advising on property and development opportunities.
With a character as big as The Renovators' set, get ready to be bowled over by this loveable tradesman. “I have a passion for architecture and real estate. I am grateful to The Renovators for the opportunity to share what I have learnt, and to mentor others with the same passion.” |
