请教各位大侠,insulation从R4升级到R5要多少钱?????我们的builder说要$3000,值得吗?3Q3Q

一般R4已经是最高的了，能说明一下为什么需要到R5吗？

i believed the R5 LZ mentioned above was for ceiling, usually with standard frame and 90mm studs, the max size of glasswool batts that can be fitted into wall cavity is R2 otherwise they will be too thick to be physically fitted in for example R3 and above. the bigger the R value, the thicker the wool batts.

Yes, you are right. The builder said the upgrade is for the ceiling and garage to comply with the government energy efficiency standards (Six Star). Do you think it's necessary or it's worth it? My house will be within 100 metre from the coast.Or R4 is enough already?

The builder said the upgrade is for the ceiling and garage to comply with the government energy efficiency standards (Six Star). Is it for the state govenment? Or the commonwealth government?

你问他拿个energy report看看上面要求是多少，就都明白了。一般上说，4，4.5，5都不算离谱。
