Check the sample in the paint shop. Generally SATIN cannot be reflecting glossy. Satin is meant to give a flat feeling even it is with some glossy compound more or less.
Those photoes you watched likely are GLOSS not SATIN. You can get a small can to try. It's a really personal preference issue. There is almost no back-to-back test saying which is more scratch resisting. And you cannot tell what kind of scratch will happen.
One more thing is the TAS OAK is fairly soft. Marks will appear quickly. A flatter looing result may be better for long run. If you do it yourself you simply apply more coats to make it attractive. For clear coating the more layers the better since it brings the wood deeper. |
