Honestly, who really cares you are busy or had 10 minutes lunch.  It is just a greeting. If you want to impress him, you could ask him question or show your insight into improvements of company.

Don't take it too seriously, Boss after all is also a human being. maybe he wants to know you, maybe he's happy just finished something and wants to share the pleasure, or maybe he is trying to get you into more awkward works . Your response depends on what he wants, but you can also clarify,

Yes , absolutely flattered. Thanks! Learn a lot from you :)  Actually he recruited me 3 years ago, but he been too busy so we don't talk too much. But whenever he came to Sydney, he will come to see me, but just a small talk, like are you busy? I always answer yes been very busy and told him some new change in working procedure. This morning he came to my office, ask me very seriously do you feel extremely busy at month end or you are Ok through the whole month. But I even don't have a chance to answer because his phone rang hahaha. BTW, if boss need your help, he won't start with are you busy, he will start with : I need you to confirm...
