McMansion这种解释是以前The Age某专栏作家的一篇文章, 谈到TOORAK时的描述. 将Mc归于"美式"引伸到犹太人头上去了. 挺无辜的. 这里有另外一个版本, 比较准确些:
McMansion is a derogatory term for a large, showy Neoeclectic home, usually built without the guidance of an architect.
A McMansion has many of these characteristics:
?Over-sized in proportion to the building lot
?Poorly proportioned placement of windows, doors, and porches
?Excessive use of gabled roofs
?Poorly planned mixture of details borrowed from a variety of historic periods
?Abundant use of vinyl and artificial stone
?Unpleasing combination of many different siding materials
?Atriums, great rooms, and other grand open spaces
?Quickly constructed using mix-and-match details from a builder's catalog
套用国内说法, 就是追求高大上, 又缺乏专业指导(比如建筑师). 既然都高大上了, 还在乎建筑师的花费, 不可理喻.
BUILDER套国内的说法, 就是施工队, 包工头, 由他们知道建造, 能建出个好模样来吗? 没听说过北京香山饭店, 香港中银大楼, 都不用找贝律铭设计, 直接找浙江象山二建那帮来自渔村的家伙画图给搞下, 中国的左脸右脸都给毁了. |
