My first accounting job in Coles Myer is because of my IT background. I started as analyst first, after the short period in one department, the manager recommended me to International supply chain accounting department. Once you worked in one area, you will explore more opportunity. As my case may not be same as yours, I can only give you general suggestion.
Be smart, be active, good attitude and be creative
